I'm reading through Numbers and struck with the daily, monthly, yearly calendar of offerings. Every day the Old Testament priests had offerings to present to God. William MacDonald calls it a "kind of priestly treadmill of sacrifice." Day in and day out, over and over, the same offerings.
If you know the Lord Jesus, we have the same priestly treadmill to walk. Well, not exactly the same.
Through Him then,
let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God,
that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.
A continual sacrifice of praise!
It’s a sacrifice… something has to die. My pride, my fear, my selfishness…
Now let’s get on the treadmill of praise!
O accept the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD,
And teach me Your ordinances.
Praise the Savior, ye who know Him!
Who can tell how much we owe Him?
Gladly let us render to Him
All we are and have.
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
