"Or who enclosed the sea with doors
When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb;
When I made a cloud its garment
And thick darkness its swaddling band,
And I placed boundaries on it
And set a bolt and doors,
And I said, 'Thus far you shall come,
but no farther;
And here shall your proud waves stop’?
Job 38:8-11 (God speaking to Job)
Boundaries. Doors. Bolts. Limits. Fences. Gates.
God set the boundaries for the sea. He lets the proud waves roar but they only go as far as He allows them. There is a point where He says, “stop.”
It’s the same in our lives. The winds roar, the clouds are black, the waves whip, but only as far as God allows. Doesn’t that encourage you?
God is in control of the circumstances of your life. He loves you. Cling to Him! When God lifted a little bit of the hedge about Job and let Satan have at him, Job said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked I shall return there. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God. Job 1:21, 22
What a lovely response. How do we get there? Realizing who God is!
God is Good. He is kind in all His ways. He knows what He’s doing in our life.
Now that’s a cause for thanksgiving!
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
