I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations that Joshua left when he died, in order to test Israel by them, whether they will take care to walk in the way of the LORD as their fathers did, or not." Judges 2:21, 22
It turns out Israel pretty much failed their tests. I love reading through my Bible. Today I started reading Judges. I know the cycles coming. Sin, Servitude, Supplication, Salvation. What impresses me is that God’s grace never failed them.
Jensen says two truths are seen throughout the book:
(1) the desperate wickedness of the human heart, revealing its ingratitude, stubbornness, rebellion, and folly; (2) God's longsuffering, patience, love and mercy. No book in the Bible brings these two truths into sharper contrast—the utter failure of Israel and the persistent grace of Jehovah!
God tests believers today. He takes us through trials to squeeze us, to pressure us, to show us the selfish ways of our hearts. As we respond, He leads us to new dependence on Him. He gives us grace upon grace.
I don’t like tests. I don’t like seeing the sin in my heart. But I am so grateful for the the lessons I learn of Christ. I’m grateful for my Teacher, my Friend.

More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
