Then she said, "Wait, my daughter, until you know how the matter turns out; for the man will not rest until he has settled it today." Ruth 3:18
The past few days Craig and I have been staying at the lovely beach cottage of some new friends. Yes, that's the above picture! Oh, the beauty of it all! I’ve been doing some reading while here. When I read, I anticipate the last chapter. The mystery and the problems are usually resolved. They live happily ever after. I wait for it.
Ruth is a beautiful story about a redeemer. Ruth is told by Naomi in her present circumstances to wait until the matter turns out. Wait for the last chapter. It’s a glorious last chapter. A beautiful love story. Read Ruth! And there she is in the line of the Messiah. Amazing!
This personally encouraged me. Sometimes the hardest part of life is waiting until a matter turns out. That’s faith! Recently I have been in circumstances that are very trying to me. What should I do? Wait! God is bringing about an end to the story. Quite a beautiful end! This is what Romans says…
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son…Romans 8:28
God is conforming us to the image of His Son! He takes our painful circumstances and works them for our good and others blessing.
That is wonderful!!! Knowing this, I’m going to wait for God! This is not the last chapter! It’s coming, though. Until then, I’m going to wait for my Redeemer!
I was thinking today, you may need to be encouraged to wait. Wait for the Lord, be strong and let your heart take courage. Wait for the Lord! The last chapter isn’t here yet. I know it’s quite a beautiful end!
My Redeemer is faithful and true.
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
