The men of David said to him, "Behold, this is the day of which the LORD said to you, 'Behold; I am about to give your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it seems good to you.'" David had a sensitive conscience. Even when David’s men tried to convince him that it was God’s will that he kill Saul, David wouldn’t do it. If God would give him the kingdom, it wouldn’t be through him killing Saul. Cutting off a corner of Saul’s robe bothered him! Oh, to have a conscience sensitive to the Spirit of God! To respond immediately to God and not to the current peer pressure! This made me want to review verses about the conscience today! Paul, looking intently at the Council, said, "Brethren, I have lived my life with a perfectly good conscience before God up to this day." Acts 23:1 A good conscience. A blameless conscience. Something to be kept!
