We had such a good Bible study last night. I’m still meditating on these thoughts today. God arranges what He is doing in history so that people will know that He is the Lord.
"Then the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots and his horsemen." Exodus 14:18
"I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel; speak to them, saying, 'At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God.'" Exodus 16:12
So Jethro said, "Blessed be the LORD who delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of Pharaoh, and who delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians. "Now I know that the LORD is greater than all the gods. Exodus 18:10, 11
The Egyptians through the miracles and the Red Sea, the Israelites through the manna given, and Jethro through all that he observed God doing for Moses, all were to come to know that God is the Lord.
God wants us to know Him! He is arranging the circumstances of our life so that we will come to know Him.
This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3
Paul’s testimony is that there is nothing as valuable as knowing Christ!
But whatever things were gain to me,
those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
More than that, I count all things to be loss
in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things,
and count them but rubbish
so that I may gain Christ,
and may be found in Him,
not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law,
but that which is through faith in Christ,
the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,
that I may know Him
and the power of His resurrection
and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being conformed to His death;
in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Today, let us press on to know the Lord!
So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD.
His going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth.
This reminded me of sitting at Bahama Palm in the spring rain last week.
Would you like to enjoy it with me? Ahhhhhh!
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
