And the king ordered Joab and Abishai and Ittai, "Deal gently for my sake with the young man Absalom." And all the people heard when the king gave orders to all the commanders about Absalom. 2 Samuel 18:5
David is about to take back the kingdom and he desired his son Absalom to be spared. Someone read this at breaking of bread yesterday. The chapter I’m reading today! I love it when that happens. And another man read:
"They shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Malachi 3:17
People spare their sons. It’s what we do. We don’t want anything bad to happen to them. Even if they are traitors. Think about it… God didn’t spare His son. Amazing love!
He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Romans 8:32
Please pray for us this week. We are in Omaha having Vacation Bible School. Pray that kids will understand that God gave up His Son for them and be saved!
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
