Last night was our first Bible study of the new school year! I love this group of kids the Lord has given us! I'm torn about talking about our lesson last night...it was so good, or what I'm thinking about in Ezra. I'm going with Ezra this morning. I guess you'll just have to wonder about Bible study! Or maybe check Craig's blog.
While Ezra prayed and made confession,
Have you ever wept and mourned over your sin?
Ezra is a great pattern for the right response to the Word of God.
Ezra read the Word of God, and took it seriously.
He prayed with tears and confessed his sin and the sin of his country.
The people followed his lead, weeping over their sin.
The people set out to obey God even though it was the hardest thing ever.
There was confession and separation from known sin.
It’s pretty simply really. God is the authority. We listen and follow Him.
That means ridding ourselves of the stuff He says is offensive.
Today is a good day to follow Ezra’s example!
For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the LORD,
and to do it
and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
