David, in Psalm 11, got some bad news. I don’t know what it was, but he was told to run for it! “Flee as a bird to your mountain.” Instead, He fixes His gaze on the Lord. Instead of running, He rests. That was one of the themes that came through to me on the weekend at Camp Hope. What a great weekend with the ladies there! Jehoshaphat said, “We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” I love what David says about the Lord in this Psalm.
The Lord is my refuge
The Lord is in His holy temple.
The Lord’s throne is in heaven.
His eyelids test the sons of men.
The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked.
The one who loves violence His soul hates.
The Lord is righteous.
He loves righteousness.
And then this…
The upright will behold His face. Wonderful! There is nothing sweeter than that!
Craig and I are in the mountains for a few days of rest. (I laughed when I read, “flee as a bird to your mountain!) Wow the beauty! The weather is gray but I’m still hoping for some good pictures. The above picture is the mountain we drove around to get where we are staying.
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
