Give ear to my words, O LORD,
Consider my groaning.
Heed the sound of my cry for help,
my King and my God,
For to You I pray.
In the morning, O LORD,
You will hear my voice;
In the morning I will order my prayer to You
and eagerly watch.
But let all who take refuge in You be glad,
Let them ever sing for joy;
And may You shelter them,
That those who love Your name may exult in You.
For it is You who blesses the righteous man,
O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield.
All is calm here today as Craig and I read our Bibles. You wouldn’t think looking at us, that we have a very long road trip ahead of us.
So many good thoughts today! God hears our groaning and our cry for help! Every morning David prayed and eagerly watched for what God would say. It’s not enough to pray, one must watch for God to respond. Wait on the Lord! Be strong and let your heart take courage. Wait, I say, on the Lord! (Psalm 27) I’m going to be watching for God’s response! What an encouragement!
The other encouragement is that God surrounds the righteous with favor as with a shield. That is amazing! Remember Psalm 3? But You, O LORD, are a shield about me. I noticed in Psalm 3 that His protection was a shield all around, not just in front. Here I notice His shield is favor. What a refuge we have in God! This is reason to sing for joy!
Gotta go… Georgia here we come. Well, maybe just Tennessee today. Thanks for praying for us!
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
