Psalm three is written by David when he was running from his son. I am especially interested in this because we are reading 2 Samuel in prayer meeting. It’s so good!
David’s trial is sore. Running from your own son. Imagine! What a sad time in David's life. How can he make it? It’s all in the Lord!
But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
Are you in the middle of trouble? How can you make it? It's all in the Lord.
First, God is the shield around him… his protector! I’m so thankful that in the middle of the fray, God protects!
God is David’s glory. God was the best thing about David. He rejoiced it Him. God’s perfections were David’s joy.
God is the One who lifted his head. David could lift up his eyes toward heaven and wait for what God would do. He could expect God to work. What confidence!
I love this! Do you need a lift today? These are rejoicing points. God is my shield, my glory, and the lifter of my head!
Give to the winds thy fears.
A note to my friends who pray. I'm preparing to travel to Camp Hope in Georgia to speak to the ladies this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Would you pray for me? Thanks! I'll probably post pictures later! I'm expecting God to do great things! He's the lifter of my head!
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
