I have been thinking about praising God in anticipation of the victory that He gives. Even when nothing has changed and there is war… praise Him. That is Psalm 20. As they set out for war they were boasting in the Name of the Lord their God!
Then what? Praise Him after the victory is won. That is Psalm 21! Why do so many people beg God for help and then after He helps, forget to say thank you? Why was there one leper that came back to say thank you after ten were healed? Why are we so filled with ourselves and not Him? I love this psalm. In the first half David rejoices in God and the victory won. In the last half David anticipates further victories! Look at the focus of this psalm… You, You, You! Yes that should be our focus! Him!
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
I repeat with David:
Be exalted, O LORD, in Your strength;
We will sing and praise Your power.
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
