Two books teach about God. There’s the book of creation which is amazing.
The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
I read those words this morning as I watched the sun rise. It’s light hit a cloud bank and shone beautiful colors on the dark night. What a sight! Creation tells a lot about God. Remember what God revealed about Himself to Job, talking about creation? Amazing! I love reading the book of Creation.
I love reading the other Book too. The Word of God.
The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul;
I noticed what David says about this Book.
More desirable than gold
Sweeter than honey
What does the Book do for those who read and follow?
Restores the soul
Makes wise the simple
Rejoices the heart
Enlightens the eyes
Warns the servant
Gives great reward to the one who keeps it!
So what is David’s response?
Who can discern his errors?
I think this is quite the response! David wanted to let the scripture show him his sin. Both his hidden faults and the sins he did with pride on purpose. He didn’t want sin to rule him. Rather, he wanted his words and thoughts to be pleasing to His Rock, His Redeemer. It’s wonderful to know that you have been redeemed, and to know the cost to your Redeemer (precious blood) and then to want to live for Him! That’s what this Book does! What a great Book. What a great Author!
I’m reading both these books today. I love them both! I want David’s response to be mine.
Let the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
