Wow, I had so many wonderful thoughts this morning in Matthew 4! I will share just one. We are going through Exodus in Sunday school. The children of Israel were delivered out of Egypt gloriously and do you know where they were led? Into the wilderness. God lead them there to test them. They failed miserably!
Matthew 4 begins with Jesus being led into the wilderness to be tested! Sound familiar? How did He do? He showed His obedience as a Son. He did not fail. He could not fail. He is the holy, sinless, spotless Lamb of God who came to die. If Jesus had any sin in Him, He could not have died for my sin! How thankful I am for Him today!
Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him,
Ok, so I had another thought I want to share with you. Jesus is my great high priest and can help me when I am led into the wilderness and tested. He understands. He helps. Wonderful! This verse of a song came to mind…
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
What a Savior! My heart is so full of rejoicing today because of Him! Is He your Savior? He is willing!
More than anything I would like to encourage you in your walk with God!
