When your strength fails at night, do your thoughts grow as dark as the night around you? In the darkness, do you give in to negative thoughts and words? Why? The same God who leads you in the daylight promises to carry you at night. At midnight, it is as bright as noon in heaven.
Father, thank you that darkness and daylight are the same to you. I confess my negative thoughts and speech at night. Negative thoughts and speech dishonor You and your Word. Help me to refresh my heart and my mind in your word when the sun is setting, just as I do in the morning when the sun is rising. Remind my heart that your Son did His greatest work in the darkness and in weakness. Let me follow Him.
Exodus 13:21 Parts of your journey can only happen at night:
"The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night."
Joshua 1:8 The Word of God day and night:
"This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success."
Psalm 1:2 Source of delight 24/7 in the Bible:
"But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night."
Psalm 139:11-12 Nothing about God is dark:
"If I say, 'Surely the darkness will overwhelm me,
And the light around me will be night,'
Even the darkness is not dark to You,
And the night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are alike to You."
For me to live is Christ.
