Why did the God Who Sees (El Roi) make your eyes?
1 Samuel 16:7
Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature,
because I have rejected him;
for God sees not as man sees,
for man looks at the outward appearance,
but the LORD looks at the heart.
And there is no creature hidden from His sight,
but all things are open and laid bare
to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
He who planted the ear, does He not hear?
He who formed the eye, does He not see?
Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her,
for she said, "Have I also here seen Him who sees me?"
As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
Even after my skin is destroyed,
Yet from my flesh I shall see God;
Whom I myself shall behold,
And whom my eyes will see and not another.
My heart faints within me!
It is no surprise that God sees. He created eyes and ears!
What takes my breath away and makes me faint? What surprises me?
One day, maybe today, my eyes will see the God who sees me.
For me to live is Christ.
