"In those days there was no king in Israel;
everyone did what was right in his own eyes."
Everyone did their own thing, and it was very sad for Israel. It is sadder for us today. If we do what is right in our own eyes, we are without excuse. We have the written history of what goes wrong when God's people ignore the Word of God. We also have the finished Bible with complete instructions for life and godliness.
Read a chapter of the Bible each day, and you can read through the Bible in three years. Keep a journal on your computer or notebook. Write down questions as you read. Write down what you learn about God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Write promises, commands, prayers, warnings, good and bad examples. I just finished the book of Judges today, and I found lots of bad examples in the book! I also learned much about the mercy of God, and so many other things. Most of all, I learned more of what is right in God's eyes.
I missed reading a few days, but I bookmarked where I stopped. If you miss a day, just begin where you stopped, and continue reading. Learn what is right in God's eyes.
Don't do your right; do God's right!
For me to live is Christ.
