2 Samuel 6:20-21
Do not quench the Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 5:19
David removed ("uncovered") his royal robes and put on humble clothing of worship to celebrate the homecoming of the ark of God. He was rebuked by his wife, Saul's daughter. She was happy to have David as a Warrior King, but she was ashamed to have David as a humble worshiper of Jehovah. She had the pride of her father Saul in her heart.
If the highest king of earth can set aside his pride of person and pride of position before God, and if God's anointed sees fit to strip himself of his royal robes and accept humble robes of worship, how much more us--the dust of the earth, the nothings of humanity?
Don't let your baseless pride stop your descent to the feet of God in worship. Do not quench the Spirit.
For me to live is Christ.
