2 Samuel 9:7-8
David said to him, "Do not fear, for I will surely show kindness to you for the sake of your father Jonathan, and will restore to you all the land of your grandfather Saul; and you shall eat at my table regularly." Again he prostrated himself and said, "What is your servant, that you should regard a dead dog like me?"
For whoever is joined with all the living, there is hope;
Surely a live dog is better than a dead lion.
Saul had no more opportunities in life; he was a dead lion. He had lost his life while seeking to save it. Although alive, Mephibosheth was as good as dead; and he counted himself to be a dead dog with no hope. But he joined himself to the living. The living reigning King David offered Mephibosheth a life and a place at his table, and Mephibosheth received the king's invitation.
Our first king, Adam, is a dead lion, and all his children are dead dogs. But the lion of the house of Judah has arisen to the throne and He invites the dead dogs of the house of Adam to be joined to His life, His throne, and a place at His table. You are invited.
Will you join come?
For me to live is Christ.
