Then it came about afterwards that David inquired of the LORD, saying,
2 Samuel 2:1
Wednesday I was wondering, why did David choose Hebron to rule as king? I know many reasons why he might go to Hebron. It was the place where Abraham lived. It was also the home of Isaac and Jacob. It makes sense. But why did David move to Hebron?
David asked God two questions, "Shall I go?" and "Where shall I go?"
David moved to Hebron because David prayed, and God answered his prayer.
These are two wonderful prayers for each of us, "Shall I go?" and "Where shall I go?" Don't just do what look right! Give even the smallest decision to God so that He can direct you. Shall? Where shall I? When shall I? How shall I?
When we act before asking God, it is called presumption. Presumption is acting like something is true before asking God first. Don't presume to know the mind of God. God does not always do what you think He will do!
So should you go or not?!! Don't ask me. Ask God.
For me to live is Christ.
