Joseph died. Solomon died. I will die. You will die. Maybe.
So Joseph died at the age of one hundred and ten years; and he was embalmed and placed in a coffin in Egypt.
2 Chronicles 9:31
And Solomon slept with his fathers and was buried…
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.
Joseph ruled the world. Solomon ruled Israel. Both men were ruled by death. The only way to remove a weed is to pull the weed with the root. The only way to remove death is to remove the root of death which is sin.
Jesus removed death by the root. First He died for sin, then He rose to life. He did it so well that it was impossible for death to hold him in its power. He did it so well that every person in Jesus will never have eternal death. He did it so well that some people in Jesus will never have physical death.
If Jesus is your Savior (receive Him right now!), you may or may not die; but you do not have to be ruled by death. Live your life for life. Stop being ruled by death.
========== The Picture ===========
Look closely at the picture. What is wrong? It is backwards. I flipped it. The artist's view of life was that men begin with life and end in death. I don't think he has much hope! The truth is all men begin dead and then some men come to life by faith in Christ. That is hope! But it also begins with a very difficult admission that I a sinner in the eyes of a holy God and that I am walking dead in my sin. Very few people will make that admission.
For me to live is Christ.
